Wind Wind Go Away

We are in the house to stay today.
The winds are horrible out there.
I am not taking any chances on getting hit by flying palm tree debris.

I just spent the last hour cleaning out my sons room. This is a yearly tradition. Before his birthday and Christmas we clean out all his clothes and toys that no longer work for him. We then donate it all to Child Haven for those a little less fortunate. My husband and myself have done this since our son came into our lives. I hope to teach him every year how important it is to give to others all we can to make their lives a little bit brighter.

After we have some lunch, it will be finger painting time. I tried to find a table runner for our holiday table but nothing was right. So I have muslin and finger paints ready to go for B to make some hand print turkeys...I will post picks of it when it is all dry and set.

So it will be a great day spent indoors safe from the howling winds....maybe we will read the 3 little pigs today.
I also hope to start a little "what we are reading" list for children. We love story time but for some reason all the places quit doing story time for the holidays. So we will read a book each week and a craft to share with all of you. Join us every Tuesday for Crafty Story Time :)

Have a great Friday everyone

Amy,
I love your craft and storybook day idea! We've kept all of our dd's chunky board books (and some others) from when she was tiny....there are so many wonderful children's books out there and she has most of them!
And now she's a wonderful and happy reader. So important to read to your children, especially starting when they're infants!
Love the turkey too!

There is nothing sweeter than watching a child hand another child something of his/hers. It will always touch my heart.

Can't wait to see your table runner for this holiday.
