Journaling

Even though I may blog, I still love my paper journals.
They are all over my house, in my purse, and in the car.
I never know when an idea will hit and I can grab a journal to jot things down.
Be it a sketch, a story, a list, or to collect a memory...such as a swatch of fabric or flower petal.
I love writing down things, and always prefer a pencil to do it with, always have. I can look back at journals I have from days long long ago. There is a basket in my studio with all my old ones collected in it. My husband loved that I would write things down, he could then sneak in and read a wish for a birthday or christmas and surprise me with something I jotted down.
I think blogging will soon, if not already, has started to lose its appeal. Times will change and something new and shiny will come along to take us on another journey in technology.
But I can always grab a paper journal, nope, not an ipad or some other "tablet" device...a good ol'fashion journal with paper you can write upon or glue, paint, sketch, tear, and most of all hold in your hands and flip through memories of your life.

How about you? Do you love the paper or technology?

I do so love the paper also. I am somewhat better with technology than I was initially but I am never comfortable with it. I find it sad that cursive writing is optional with today's schoolchildren. I was so excited to learn to write in "real" writing.

Oh, both, equally. How can you not love technology and linking to the rest of the world?

And..don't get me started with my addiction to paper.

I adore this journal...it's gorgeous!

oh I so agree, I used to mimic my mothers scrolly writing as a child before I even knew how to write the alphabet. Cursive just looked so elegant to me. I too can't believe it has been phased out.

It seems like the only writing I do is on my blog. The physical act of writing cramps up my hand and my handwriting is getting worse and worse. I can't even manage to remember to write lists. I wish I physically journaled more but never have worked it into a practice. I still however place a higher value on the written word and thing journals are such a soulful expression. I only seem to make journals but never get around to writing in them for long. I wold like to make it more of a practice in my life.

Awww look at that beautiful journal and those cute cupcakes in the post below!! :)

Hehe and the 10 days off include the Christmas and New Year public holidays and forced leave taking since we aren't allowed to work during that period. So it's not all that 'amazing'.

Paper every time !!! I always use paper journals but mostly for drawing in or sticking in bits of fabric and "stuff"..so the journal ends up bursting at the seams...I bet you know what I mean hehe ! It's nice to look back in them too isn't it ? Thanks for today's post.... Gail x
