This is what it is really like being a MOM

There has been a lot of huffing out there in blogland that blogs are not real life.
Staged much like a "reality tv show" Well I am here to say it doesn't get more real than this.

This is my Spa Day/Night...
I have not had a chance for a pedicure in...well it will be two years come February. I know this because I remember going for a wedding 2 years ago.

Thats right, its me sitting in my son's bathroom, him in bubble bath, me on stool( I will leave the toilet part out) or not...Nail polish remover, cotton balls and the baby safety clippers. Cause my husband has once again made off with my real ones...Thanks babe.
So I sit and do my toes (which I cannot show in the current state) while baby is soaking in bathtub.
Cat comes in, sees how boring this is and leaves quickly.
Yep, this is my spa day. A dingy childs bathroom and a minute to sit yet still multitask.
This is how I do it. I make my life work with what I got.
So there ya have it. I know, I know my life is so luxurious...don't hate. Its almost 2 am and it is my first alone time all day. I am beat and so wanting to lay down but I want to have just a moment...just a moment

FAMILY

What would we have done without our past, our family that paved the way for us.
This garland is to represent all family
I have collected thru the years, tin types big and small. Ones with Children, Men, Women and one of the most special ones a whole family gathered, which is the centerpiece of this design.


This garland has 6 vintage black gloves, leather,satin,cotton all combined.
They hold vintage doily pieces and each have a REAL antique Tin Type hanging
All the items in this piece are from my vintage supplies.
Black letter tiles and dominoes, My favorite, paper measuring tape dangles the lettering from the fingertips of the glove.

This is a one of a kind piece that I put a lot of love into.

What A Day

This was an amazing day.
I first have to thank all of you that shopped with me this weekend.
People cringed when seeing me pull up to the post office and were dashing to get in front of me in line. But I am a prepared professional and all packages were processed in record time.
There is 1 Day left to the sale in my shop and it is going to be a good one, I would tune in if I were you ;)

I would love to see pictures of all the trees decorated in the garlands.

I am ending my day with...you guessed it, more garland making in my quiet studio.
My lamps are glowing in the evening darkness and I have It's Complicated on for background noise.
The rest of the house is dark and the baby sleeps the evening away while I work like an elf in Santa's Workshop.
I will skip the Post Office tomorrow and wait til Wednesday to hit it again.
For now, I am so enjoying LIFE :)
Thoughts go out to all my friends and family that called or emailed troubles today.
I am thinking of all of you and wish the best outcomes for everyone.

The leftovers are gone and it is time to hit the grocery for food.
We have been so busy having fun, building forts and drawing pictures.My son is not even 3 yet and is showing such great talent for his love of drawing

The rest of the weekend will be spent cleaning this home. Ugh, how do things get so crazy after just two days of taking it easy ;(
I hope to fit in some more time to do a little Christmas decorating as I put away the fall decor
I can't believe that fall is gone and we are on to winter...why does the summer last so long and my favorite time of year flies by in the blink of an eye.
Our neighbors already have all their Christmas lights up and B loves to open our front door to see them. They have a huge frosted glowing snowman that he can't get enough of.

I did not go out, I slept in and I will go out next week when all the people are at work.
I went out once years ago for Black Friday and realized then that it is not worth it.
I would rather pay full price than get caught up in that mess ever again.

For this weekend I will enjoy my family time and the leftovers.
We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am Thankful for having a husband who knows how to cook :) It was seriously the best dinner ever.I am passing the thanks on to all my followers and customers

Happy Thanksgiving

We are enjoying a beautiful and relaxing day as a family.
The cookies have been baked, cranberry and chocolate chip, the turkey is ready to go in the oven and I am burning the most wonderful smelling candle ever!

The smell fills the house with just one little candle.

Gifts to Give and Gifts from a Child

I started cleaning my studio last night and inspiration always hits when you are putting away a mess and come across little things that pile up and then you look and say, OH that looks good together. I then get sidetracked and the cleaning stops and the creating begins.
A little leather coin purse nest. Was born.
It will be available here later today.Maybe I need to go in and clean more often to get inspired :)
Would be a great gift to give this holiday season or hang upon your tree.

Then last week I stated that I would do a Tuesday Story time and craft.
We started with this super cute board book to teach Brooklyn about the 1st Thanksgiving.
It has really cute interactive flaps to lift as you read along. We found this at Barnes and Noble a few weeks back. It was the only little book on Thanksgiving he was fond of...and me too :)
So our turkey hand prints are dry and laying on our table.
This is a super easy way for the kids to do a craft. We used
Crayola washable finger paints, they really are super easy to clean up.
I put out colors mixed on pieces of tin foil and pressed his hand in the color then right onto the muslin runner. I layered tin foil under the runner as not to get it on the table.
We went back and added legs, gobbler,and eyes with a toothpick and sharpie.
put a few finger print dots all around to fill it in. Let it dry for 24-48 hours.
It dries nice and bright! I will cherish it always and we had so much fun making it.
You could also do this for place mats for the Thanksgiving table. I will back this in a fun fabric and roll it out every year for us to use.

Getting set for Christmas
