Ice Skates

I miss ice skating.

It is something that really reminds me of Little Women, I just adore that movie the old one, 1949, with Elizabeth Taylor, June Allyson and Janet Leigh soooo good.

We use to go every winter in Forest Park back in St. Louis.
There would be snow on the ground and hot cocoa flowing in the concession stand.
Oh I miss winter.

Today is like a winter day, the skies are very puffy and gray.  The wind is howling and it is supposed to start raining by night fall.   But it is still very warm :(  so it only kinda looks like Christmas.

So since I was a good girl and spent all morning cleaning and purging,  I decided to sit this afternoon and make little felt ice skate garland for the end of our sleigh bed.

Making them double sided and so they actually can be stockings to hold little candy canes.

I also sat up late last night, yes way past my bed time and finished myself a little red hat.
It would be so cute and warm as I glided across the ice...I can dream, right?

LOVE the hat! The garland is pretty darn cute, too. There is a synthetic ice rink on the river walk in Tuscalaoosa. Shanley is going skating with her friends today. I'm surprised there isn't one in your town!

But there's nothing like skating outside on real ice, like in Beaver Creek, Colorado!
