These are the Days of Our Lives

Life is like a soap opera around here.
Seriously, So many twists and turns.
Someone really needs to follow me with a camera crew to believe how it goes around here.
(see, the cat knows)

For the most part it would be a lot of watching me crafting and sewing, especially this week.  I have been so addicted to my sewing machine in the morning and crocheting and knitting by night.
These little toadstools are popping up like crazy around here and little mice to sit under them.

Then we get to the soap opera part.  I have a feeling it is just the town we live in and the lack of real schools or schools who care for children typical or special needs.
Today my son lost his 3rd teacher for the school year.  It became too much for us to put up with anymore.  Change isn't good for any child but throw in one with a learning disorder it is a nightmare.  We expected more from a private school but once again it is all about the $ signs and the care went out the window.   We have decided to leave.  Luckily we acted fast and got him with another temp. location until we find a decent school.
Just when you think life is rolling and all is finally good, it throws a curve ball.
I think knowing I am finally good in health and have no underlying reasons to worry everyday, this curve ball is not hitting me as hard.  I took it all in stride and just let it roll off my back and moved on.  I will work with him allot at home and then fill in with classes and social life from other outlets.

We spent the morning playing in the park and pretend playing superheroes
Way better than sitting a classroom being ignored.

The upside of it all is I will have time to sit and crochet or hand sew while he is in classes.  Two birds with one stone kinda thing.

Well that is it for this episode.  Tune in next week to see if my world has turned once again, :))

Now time to brew some lovely decaf and kick back with a crochet hook.

I hear ya Amy and I'm so sorry. Our schools can be infuriating and the only real control we have is to choose to leave if things aren't going well.
I think so many of our schools are in such a mess, it's a real shame.
I've always 'fought the good fight' for my dd and will continue to do so when necessary.
After all, we're Mom's, that's what we do. Ignoring it never even figures into the equation.
If people can't do their jobs properly they shouldn't have that job, move out of the way and make room for someone who cares and wants to be there.......o.k., whew, got that off my chest.
Your situation just really saddens me but know that someday B will find that soft spot to land and it will get better.
Hang in there!

I hate that, when life pulls that rug out from underneath us. Your strength is amazing, Amy. You've been up and down with his schools for too long. Yet, you remain positive and move forward.

B will remember this, you are truly setting a wonderful example.

Love your images this day, as usual. You capture bits of life like no other. xo R

Oh your little mice are just beautiful .... as are those toadstools. You are creating a storm in the midst of all your chaos Amy. Sometimes its good to have our creativity to shine a light (& distract us) when things go wrong. So sorry to hear about Brooklyns school but you sound like you are on top of it this time ... thinking of you my friend x0x

Girl,
NO soap opera I have seen has so much fun with a little boy and turns out such lovely wonderful and fun things like whales and crocheted mood blankets an gorgeous star dream catchers... you ROCK!
Losing a good teacher is really hard, but leaving a bad one is a temporary difficulty. I wish you lived near me! My niece home schools her kids. one of them is an autism spectrum child and she has been able to do wonders with him. And he is really intelligent. I know your sweet boy is too. Those kids are just keeping it quiet to show only those who care enough to recognize it.
I love having the little dresses around my home I purchased from you, I think of you almost eery day because I see them everyday!
Hugs and prayers for added strength to all of you!

Oh no Amy sounds like more hassle for you ! but I'm hoping everything turns out ok and I'm sure like you say your little one is better off with the attention you will give him than being ignored in a classroom... take care...Gail x

I´m so sorry you have to have these trouble with schools for your little boy Amy - I hope you´ll eventually find a perfect place for him. I know you will.
So glad you take the time for creativity too in between. Life can be so hectic
