My Love of Summer

Is over.
I start with a happiness to wear some shorts and a flowy light dress, but after only 4 days of 100+
heat I am done.
I want and long for what this picture perfectly captures.

I am a Autumn/Winter girl all the way, always have been.

I want to be able to vacation to a warm spot for a few days to get the shorts and dresses in then back to the cold rain and cozy covers I want to live.

I have been here for 9 years and the heat gets earlier and worse with every passing year.

I was duped into thinking it rained here in the summer. My first summer here was the worst monsoon season and I thought that it was just normal. Nope we haven't had rain even close to that first year here. Also that year it didn't start getting hot until mid June. So I totally dove into thinking it would be okay living here.
So, I am thinking of taking a vacation. I want to hit somewhere that it is still chilly, and rainy.
Northwest, maybe? Somewhere that can feel and see the chill in the air. Any suggestions?

Come visit Alaska! It's supposed to get up to a sunny 70 today and it's light all night.
...and besides, You know someone here!

you always make me appreciate, so much more, the cool and rainy days we have here. i used to hate them but i have a new-found appreciation for them because of you. and, whenever we have one of those days, i can't help but think of YOU and smile! I hope you find your "chill". ;)

Hey, Chicago weather changes daily...just sayin'!! It's very cool walking the lakefront. Rainy, yes.

The Pacific Northwest or San Francisco has very nice weather.

Today is so hot here, ugh. I'm not ready for summer either.

We're hot already in Arkansas River Valley.

Here in the Northwest we have rain in many different forms from late Oct. to mid-June. However this year we have had a very good May. While I have learned to not mind the rain over the 30 years I have lived here I do miss a distinct Midwest winter...being a Chicago girl and all.
I hope you do find your favorite chilly spot to vacation.

Ahhh, we're complete opposites -- I LOVE the warm summer days! Winter and I are definitely not friends!
