Sunday Rain

What a cozy week we have been having.
So not Vegas like at all and I am fine with that :)

Rain every day and mornings are so grey.
It is like a real fall.  I am totally getting spoiled and know it will end all too soon but man, I am in love with it.

It puts me in the mood to crochet, sew and cozy up in blankies and watch the Gilmore Girls.

So that is just what I have been doing.

I am addicted to crocheting these heart coffee mug place mats.  I bought the pattern on etsy a year ago and I am just now in the mood to try to learn how to do it.  I have made 5 now and think I finally perfected it.  I am not so good with patterns and usually make it up as I go along.  Being a self taught crochet gal and having a mind that doesn't do math so well it makes it easier if I just make it up.  So I am thrilled with learning this pattern.

As the boy naps and the rain comes down, I light the pumpkin scented candles and turn the tv on low.  I put on Gilmore Girls or dark who dunnit mysteries and sew.  The house is quiet and the rooms are only lit by a soft lamp and candles glowing.  I feel as if I am in a cottage on the English countryside with the rain coming down.

I want it to last forever but alas mommy duties call and it is house cleaning day.  Up I need to get, out of my cozy rocking chair and get to movin' and cleaning.
Happy September Sunday!

the hearts are so cute, and are you making dolls too? The photo of you and your napping little one is beautiful, our gracie is doing really well, four days at school and they say she is doing great, she can't take part in all the JK activities but she does do most, she marches to the beat of her own drum and sometimes doesn't take instruction well, but on a whole, the fears and dreads we had are slowly disappearing, she is Taxied to school, she has a full time aide who meets the taxi and puts her on it, they have changed the classroom door so that it is half a door, (the doors must remain open) so this way the door is open at the top but closed at the bottom, sorry this is a long comment, thank you for your kindness,

Oh Amy your posts always totally put me in the "mood" of how you describe things ... yes I can just imagine it feels like you are in a cottage in the English Countryside. How perfect !!! Those crochet heart mats are just adorable - I actually gasped when I saw the one in your first pic ... they are just beautiful. Its cleaning day here today too - thinking of you my friend x0x

Sounds wonderful, darling. It's a rainy and foggy morning for us too. I am so ready for autumn and all the fun that comes with it. Btw: love your glasses:) Muah
