Victorian Style Christmas

I have always loved the style of the primitive Christmas.
Packages wrapped in brown paper and tied with white string.

Black and white stripes on things soft crochet handmade items.

It all just echoes to the days of when Christmas was simple and not about the monetary things.

I try really hard to use what I have to make my decorations out of.

It is all about using a vintage item and turning into new life.

Make do with what we have and be happy.

Those we give to, will love it just because we made it from our hearts and it is one of a kind.

Yes, I know it is early for Christmas, but in crafting world it is start now or rush at the last minute.

As I look out my front door today it is filled with Autumn colors and the leaves are blowing in the wind.  I sit and work on some scarves and then my mind wanders to making more Christmas things.

Ruffled White Table Runner

I have been working this week on new ideas and lots of orders for my paper garlands.
When the idea of a table runner with my garlands and crocheted lanterns popped in my head.

Elegant, ruffled, full and  really adds a wow factor to any tablescape.

Perfect for Winter Weddings and Holiday Celebrations

The lantern glow so stylishly in the evenings.  Gives a warm winters glow.

Victorian Pins

I finally got around to wrapping these pins with some vintage string.
They turned out so victorian christmas like.
I don't think that they were in my shop for more than 5 minutes before they were snapped up.

I plan on making more this week.

My week is full of work but I am taking a few minutes to have some me time today.
It is always healthy to take a moment for ourselves in this fast paced world.

But then it will be back into my studio to work.

I have some fun things coming up this week and I can't wait to share.

I just had to throw a pic in of my boy at our friends birthday party this weekend.
He had so much fun playing pretend with all the kids.  Thanks Santana for having us!!!

Here Comes Santa Claus

Even though it is Fall and I love creating for Halloween, the time has come to fill my shop with some goodies for Christmas.

I have a ton of ideas to get to but I started with these little advent pockets yesterday.
They are perfect for holding little prize for the 12 days of Christmas I am also doing them in the full 25 days.

It is chilly here in the mornings and that gets me in the mood to create.
I have been crocheting a lot, lots of goodies coming to the shop in the next few weeks that are crochet white goodies.

But the one thing that always gets my season going is my original paper garland.
These are so perfect for banisters, trees and mantels.
So off I go to start to make 5 today!

Thanks again for everyone who contacts me about my items it is just so amazing and keeps me going.

Autumn Morning

As chilly as it is in the morning, the kitty still wants outside.
He then finds the porch pillows and blankies to puff up in.

oh he is getting so old, poor kitty, this weather is not good for his joints.

Then it is time for some warm soup and crocheting in the afternoon.

I really can't say it enough,  I LOVE YOU AUTUMN!

Once again, Never Give Up

Watching my beloved St. Louis Cardinals last night, in which it was looking like it was going to be their last game to play this season.  They were down 6-0 most of the game.
But boy oh boy what a game. I still don't know how they do it always in the last inning down to the last out!
Well we are jumping for joy here and wishing we were back home to celebrate.
So again,  the lesson is fight hard for what you want and never give up thinking its all over.

Crisp Autumn Morning

It has rained non-stop for 2 days now and this morning we wake to clear skies but wet dewy grounds.
The sun is out but it is super crisp and breezy out.  It is perfection.
I must enjoy it while it is here cause in just a few short days it will be back up to record heat in the 90's...ugh.

Today is a holiday from school so we will get out and enjoy this crisp day.  My little one is ready to fight for justice.  Currently obsessed with vintage Superfriends cartoons.

I also have to get to some more crocheting on a few new orders which is kinda nice to sit and listen to the rustling of the leaves while I crochet.  Very soothing.

There are what seems like millions of other things I want to get to today but I know I won't have much time this weekend to do them all.

I need to get on my letters to Santa and alter the vintage mercury glass ornaments I stumbled upon.
I think this weekend is going to fly by fast.

What are you up to this lovely Autumn Weekend?
