Label Free

I am just popping in to share some amazing news with ya'll
I will do a more in depth post soon.
But for now we are too excited to share the biggest news.

Today my boy became LABEL FREE.
No more AUTISM Label for him.

We fought hard for 2 years to prove he was a typical little boy stuck in a world of frustration by not being able to communicate.  We soon found out this was due to food allergies.

Today was his school IEP and we won.  He will now be label free and will be in a typical gen ed classroom come fall semester.

It took a lot of hard work, sleepless nights, screaming and fighting, breakdowns and bouts of depression.  But we never gave up.  To us we saved his future.  It was all worth it.
Keep fighting and go with your gut.  If your child has been labeled, fight and keep fighting for his or her rights. I would be sick if we would have listened to the  "professionals" and stood by doing nothing.

Okay full post to follow soon of our full story.  Get some snacks ready it will be a long one ;)

Woo hoo! So happy to hear that news, Amy. I'm sure you rocked that IEP meeting, which I know from experience aren't always fun.
Happy 40th and happy adventure-time-with-Grandma-babysitting!!!

Oh Amy your comment just truely made my day dear friend. I just knew if you hung in there you would win in the end. That is such fantastic news & just goes to show that theres a hell of a lot more to be said for just those "mothers gut feelings" & parents intuition than the medical & healthcare professionals EVER give us credit for. Thanks for sharing this wonderful news - SO happy for ya. x0x0x0x0x0x

And it ends exactly how I thought it might....good for you for fighting for your child. Mom's gut wins, as usual!
Happy days ahead now that you know what you're dealing with.
I'm so proud of you two for figuring it all out for Brooklyn!

I've read your story about autism and I'm so glad it's over now. I think you've been a clever mother, who never gave up!I have a relative suffering from this desease and, believe me,he isn't as your boy.I couldn't believe he could be labelled like that with such a loively expression on his face. Now I know I was right!
Wish you all the best

That is AMAZING news!! I'm so happy for you. What a weight to be lifted from your shoulders. I can't imagine how draining that was. He will thank you when he's older. CONGRATS! Can't wait to hear the details.
