This week is full of new findings, new listings, and new creations.

I just sat in my studio yesterday in quietness, thinking and looking at all that surrounds me and said to myself "This is all got to get a new home" I have way too much, more than one little studio needs.
Therefore, I am listing great vintage pieces, Vintage Homer Laughlin Ironstone Platter
and making things from others lying around.
My shop will be overflowing for holiday shopping made easy.

Victorian Pincushions

This weekend was busy and a lot of family fun was had.
We hit the pumpkin patch, and art show,and the craft fair.
I also managed to get a lot of home improvements taken care of more on that later...
but I also had a little time to fit in some of my own crafting.I have designed this new take on pincushions and they are in my shop starting today.
This one is primitive whites and victorian photo cards wrapped in pearls. It has vintage mother of pearl shell buttons attached to vintage doily pieces.
The edging is all wrapped in vintage zippers and button strips from victorian pillowcasing.
The pincushion is actually made from a vintage hankey and is stuffed with fibers.
These are great little sewing desk helpers, they are heavy to weight your materials while working hold your pins and look fabulous as art when not in use.

Hi, I am Amy, and I have bipolar decorating disorder

Okay, seriously, I have a brain that loves dark and tattered, torn and distressed and then the other side of my brain loves pink and girly, fun and colorful.Since I can't decide on one thing for very long, we are constantly moving and switching things about in the house.
Last week we added lovely deep color to the living/tv room.
and now my mind has wandered to the kitty and laundry room.It was so dark and depressing in there, I cleared it out and added some shabby fun.

and my fav is this orb radio found back home in a dive of a thrift shop for $2!! It is most excellent because it picks up the best AM country radio station that plays the real country hits, loretta, cash, patsy....oh my heart loves those crackly sounds of AM radio and vintage hits.
This makeover started by finding a Tender Vittles cat dish that I had as a kid and fed my kitties in growing up. I love the bright red plastic and the heart shaped bowls. My kitties are way to fat to eat out of this vintage little bowl but it looks great as wall art.I want to paint so cool graphics in bright colors that say "WASH IT" over the basket shelf.
The great thing about this room is that it is bright and fun now and even though it doesn't flow with the rest of the home, the door can shut and be my own little happy secret :)I have also been working with fun color, going into my scrap bin from years of working with colorful fabrics. My vintage charms and buttons are finding new homes on these colorful book pincushions. I love the way they are turning out and will soon be listed in the shop :)

Senior Center Craft Fair=GOLD

What a way to spend a morning.
We set out as a family to go support our local seniors and their craft.
But as soon as we pulled up my son was fast asleep...this meant leaving him and my hubby in the car while I did a dash thru the senior center.
Knowing exactly what I was on the hunt for and I struck GOLD!
I have been looking for a chevron afghan for our new living area in bright bold colors.
Knowing that the older ladies love the bright colors and use all their scraps to make beautiful blankets, I headed for the afghan table.
There it sat calling my name. These ladies work their poor fingers off and charge so little for something that would take me years to complete.I gladly paid the $30 for this huge afghan and cuddled it all the way back out to the car.
It looks perfect on the new ottoman. It will get a ton of use by us and the kitties. :)

Autumn Hats

This week has been so great.
First it rained and the temps dropped 40*, so it really feels like Autumn.
I confess, I played hooky on most of these days rather than sitting with a hook and yarn.
But I got myself together yesterday and finished around 11:45 pm my orders due today for Autumn hats.Can I just say how thrilling it is to have boutiques want to carry my little handmade hats.
It just gives me a super warm feeling :)

Now that the work is finished I can head out and have some fun today.
Tonight is an art show by my friend Mary Beth and I am dying to check out some new art.
It will be so fun getting out on this crisp Autumn night and doing some shopping. Hope there is hot cider to sip on.

I am loving being able to layer up and wear all my fall clothing. But today is extra fun,
My hubby surprised me with the new Hello Kitty Bag. I am so in love with the bright color and embossed patent leather. SO FUN! I can't wait to put an outfit together to go with it.
